Development

The number of members of the Association has reached 9500 pilots, who are divided up 50% of French pilots, and 50% of European and worldwide pilots.

Several pilots’ associations, which most are members of IFALPA, have negotiated an agreement with APPN. These particular relationships with pilots’ organizations permit to deal more effectively with the potential risks of the definitive and temporary loss of licenses.

Evolution of the contract

The Board of Directors has decided, during its September 2013 session to limit the memberships applications to the pilots under 45 years of age, this, considering the numerous definitive loss of licenses in 2012 and 2013.

The many decisions taken by the Board of Directors have led to the mailing of a new policy which brings improvements for the members. In particular, the Association agrees to pay the definitive loss of license even if the authorities who delivered the license do not pronounce a definitive unfitness. A medical appraisal is carried out by the French medical experts. This is a very important improvement in the contract.

2012 Refund

In October 2014, all APPN members received a refund for the year 2013 which represents half of a monthly premium.

The year 2013 marked an improvement in the claims results which has been reduced compared to the year before. 35 definitive losses of licenses in 2012 and 30 in 2013 with a claims level reduced by 1 million euros.

The 2014 first semester results are encouraging regarding the definitive loss of licenses with an inferior range of 10% compared to the year before.

Yours Sincerely.

Le Président de l’A.P.P.N.
